20. Props and costumes

Towards the end of the video he will be wearing expensive accessories such as Patek Phillipe or Rolex watches, golden rings and driving a BMW 7-series.

The teachers will be using a suit like shown underneath.
We will be using some paper and books to show that Tinie is reading and learning, also to use as the tests he will be given.
Tinie will be wearing clothes like shown underneath to show the audience the way in which the main actor is a gangster, these clothes are quite stereotypical for RnB videos.

19. Casting shots

Gbemiga Laminakra from G-House is the most suitable for Tinie Tempah as he has alot of experience with music videos from before, especially rapping as he has a past of doing his own rap songs, he is also african which makes him looks more suitable for the main character in an RnB music video.
Thomas from Altyre will be playing a role in the film, probably as a teacher or a doctor as he has the look of quite a straight forward guy.

Kaylin Cowie from Windmill will be playing the role of Ellie as she has experience with music video as she does media herself and played a part in her music video aswell.

18. Location shots

All of the locations that will be used in the film are not on this list as we dont not have access
to all of the places at the moment.

This location will be used all the way throughout the film as a location for Tinie to be rapping with Ellie.
This location will be used for Tinie to come out of celebrating when he gets good results in his test.

We will be using several locations much like this one to film Tinie walking, in the beginning he will look sad and eventually he will be more enthusiastic.

This location will be used close to the end of the video as the main character has finally reached his goal of getting a record deal, he willl be recording a song in this shot, he will be singing hte song we are using for our coursework using lip sync.

17. Shot list

Our video starts off with a mid shot of Tinie rapping, followed by a close up on his face, our video will mainly take place in three locations, outside where Tinie will be walking and rapping, in classrooms, where Tinie will be getting grades and on a big open field where Tinie and Ellie will be singing.

1) Mid-shot(Tinie rapping)

2) Close-up(Rapping)

3) Extreme close-up(lip syncing of Tinie)

16. Animatic with sound

Point 16 from Brage Krogsrud on Vimeo.

15. Five sections of our video

In this shot our main character is very poor, counting pennies to survive. He is saving up money to get richer but his standards of life are very bad, this is the first section of our video.

In this shot Tinie Tempah is reading to get better in his school work and mentally stronger, this is an important part of the video as it shows the hard work he will go through to achieve his goals.

In this shot Tinie is training and he has already managed to achieve to get stronger as they are quite big weights, in the third section Tinie has managed to become a person with average living standards, he is working hard to gain power, money and become stronger as a person.

In this photo Tinie Tempah is getting recognition for his hard work, this part will involve Tinie getting better grades on his tests.

In the fifth section and the last one Tinie has reached 'the top' by becoming rich and powerful, the photo shows him standing with expensive sunglasses and a smile on his face which is showing that he is happy and successful.

The individuals in these photos will not be the actors in our real video.

14. Brief synopsis

The main theme of our music video is the way in which our main character developed throughout his life, both physically and mentally. Our video will probably start of with the main character in a weak state, in a hospital after an accident, he will have little money and power, and will not be very strong. In the video we will show clips of the artist making money and gaining power, but we will show how hard he worked for it as well. In the end of the video there will be some aspirational lifiestyle, we will also show an operation on the main character and how he will recover after it and becooming stronger and smarter. The main character will probably be an african looking person as it is what Tinie Tempah looks like and most, if not all successful RnB artists are African-American.

13. Key elements of my video

Aspirational lifestyle
In RnB videos the key element of almost every single video is aspirational lifestyle as the artists like to show off their success as artists and their power in the high society of 'american gangsters'.
Provocative dancing and dressing
A main aspect of RnB is provocatively dressed females as it is one thing that many people watch it for, although it is not seen in the video my production company are working on it is seen in many other RnB music videos, it could also go under the topic of aspirational lifestyle.
Visuals reflect lyrics
Our video is going to be about the development of the main character's life and the lyrics will have relation to the video to get the story out to the audience.
Lip syncing
Our video as most other music videos will include lip syncing as it is not going to be us singing, this would probably not be very pleasant for the audience, most music videos have lip sync because the sound is not as good if there is a performance while singing.

12. Institutions

There are quite a few institutions that could produce our video, one is youtube, as most of the videos on youtube are created by amateurs, like us. For most people that create a music video for the first or second time, they would go to youtube first to get viewers and feedback on their work.
Another institution that would sponsor our kind of work is EMI productions as it is the has produced many RnB videos, one of which is the music video we are basing our work on, Wonderman-Tinie Tempah.
Megatrax is an institution that is very large on independent music and music videos and could be a company that would most likely support the creation of our music video.

11. My perfect audience member

As a result of some research on www.uktribes.com i came to the conclusion that the main target group for our music video are the 'trendies'

Trendies are people who care alot about fashion, they have an indirect competition with their friends who is the most wealthy or has the most expensive stuff like clothes, electronics or cars. The stereotypical 'trendies' would normally walk around high streets with shopping bags from expensive stores, normally with others of the same tribe, they would have tea at cafes and be very busy on the phone planning the house parties they are going to in the evening. It is important for 'trendies' to be better than others, so their life is basically a competition with everyone. Trendies would normally listen to RnB as it is quite mainstream, but still sophisticated to an extent, like a mixture between rap and hiphop. Underneath is a person that might be considered one of the 'trendies'

9. Mood Board

In this mood board you can see the stereotypes of RnB, african american artist, the 'gangster' style of clothing. I also put some golden guns, golden car and mobile phone, this is a way gangsters and rappers show others their wealth and power. in the bottom right there is a picture of Frank Lukas, one of the richest and most powerful gangsters in the history of man, he has had a significant impact on the style of Rnb artists.

8. Nine key screen shots

Here are my 9 key screenshot of Birdman- Fire Flame, the video is mainly about Birdmans lifestyle, and is probably the video with the most aspirational lifestyle ever created!

1.This is the opening shot of the video and you can see that the performer lives in a big house and has a bridge leading up to the house, this shows where most of the video takes part and is a good way of showing it.
2.This shot comes after the shot of the house and you can see the lifestyle of the main character. As there are people working for him, combing his hair and serving him drinks the audience can see the aspirational lifestyle.
3. This shot of burning money sends a message that he has enough money to waste it and doesnt know what to do with it.
4. This shot shows the main character standing next to an expensive sports car in front of his house again showing how rich he is.
5. I chose this shot as it shows that he is doing illegal business with foreign people, where birdman is using an expensive branded bag as oppose to the other man using an ordinary suitcase meaning birdman is better.
6. In this shot you see the Birdman hiding his face using sunglasses and a hoodie which send a message that he is a celebrity and needs to hide his face, the hoodie also underlines that he is a gangster. He is also wearing an expensive watch with a lot of money in the background, this again shows the audience how rich the main character is.
7. This shot shows birdman overlooking a big fountain in his house, it is also a shot that shows all the tattoos on his head which makes the audience aware of his "gangster" ways.
8. This is a shot of mirdman speaking russian to a foreign business partner which underlines that he is a very organised criminal character.
9. This shot is the final shot in the video and it shows birdman sitting at the end of a long table in a room with a lot of money on the shelves and two women handing him two bags most probably full of money which shows that he has class in his work, aswell as it shows how rich he is!

7. Textual analysis

Not afraid - Eminem

This music video is quite different from the one my production company has decided to work on although it could be compared to send a bit of the same message as they are both about the life of the artists.

Editing
Throughout the first half of the video there are just lots of short clips showing small aggressive acts by the performer, the quick editing makes the audience aware of how aggressive the performer is. The quick editing may also be a way of showing confusion in his life as the storyline is about Eminem having thoughts of suicide.
Mis en Scene
This video as in the other video I made a textual analysis of starts with the singer on a rooftop, but has a different meaning, in this video the performer is evaluating whether to jump, but can also mean the same as in the other one, that he managed to get to the top. All the way throughout the video Eminem reaches 'dead ends' such as the top of the roof, or the end of a road where it just goes straight down, or the wall in the basement he sings in, in the end of the video he breaks throught the wall, and jumps over the edge of the road, what happens is he flies right back to where he was in the beginning of the video.
Sound
In the beginning of almost every sentence the camera changes angle, the shots also switch to the beat in the music. There is no diegetic sound in this music video except for the voice of Eminem
Cinematography
In his basement it is very dark, which may mean his life at the moment, what he is trying to do is break through "the bubble" which he does in the end when he punches the wall down and walks out to the light.

7. Textual analysis

Written in the stars - Tinie Tempah featuring Eric Turner

This song is quite similar to the video my production company have decided to create, and also has quite a similar storyline as the music video to the song we will work with as it is about how Tinie Tempah has risen from nothing to become famous, it also shows some of his hard time as young.

Editing
The editing in this music video is quite quick which makes the audience look at the video in more of an action point of view, in several scenes you can see that there is a scebne with Tinie Tempah as a child and immediately switches over to him as an adult in the same setting. This gives the audience an idea of his flashbacks and of his hard times as a child.
Mis en Scene
The video starts with Tinie Tempah on a rooftop, this symbolises that he has made it to 'the top' and has risen above the people that once did not believe in him. In all the scenes as a child Tinie Tempah is wearing headphones, but as an adult he is singing. In the setting where Eric turner is there is nothing but a piano.. everything else is very light with white walls, this could mean a lot of things, one of which is his hope, as a child the playing of the piano is quite slow, but as he grows up it takes off more. Tinie Tempah is always sitting down when he is a child and standing up as an adult, this shows the audience that he has managed to get out of the ghetto and lowlife.
Sound
You can see that throughout the video Tine Tempah is moving to the beat, also when the music takes off more he is standing on a rooftop and calmer music when he is a child.
Cinematography
In most of the scenes as a child the camera is shooting down at Tinie Tempah wheras the shots when he is grown up the camerea is shooting from below, this makes him look much bigger as an adult.

5. Letter to EMI productions

Above is a screenshot of me and Danyla's application for the right to use Wonderman by Tinie Tempah for our coursework.

4. Our project

Here is the original music video of wonderman- Tinie Tempah

The song platinum productions will work on this year of A2 coursework will be wonderman by Tinie Tempah. The song and original video is about the life of the artist and the way he grew up, and the way he managed to get rich after being poor as he was young. In my opinion this video goes under the genre of action, it is also quite dramatic. We will recreate the video as a dramatic video which will include a bit of aspirational lifestyle aswell as action. One thing that appears in action music videos like this one is explosions, as in the original wonderman music video there are at least three explosions. There is also a girl singing in this song which makes it sound a lot more dramatic.
